Senior Instructor

Rye Watersports is a family run RYA Training Centre on a large coastal lake just outside Rye, East Sussex, close to Camber Sands. It is looking for an experienced RYA Senior Instructor for the 2027 season, running from March to November, to play a key part in the day-to-day running of the centre.

The role:

• Act as Duty Senior Instructor and support the daily operation of the centre
• Deliver RYA courses within the Youth and National Sailing and Windsurfing Schemes
• Supervise and support instructors and assistant instructors
• Help coordinate school, youth and group activity days
• Maintain high standards of safety, customer care and session delivery
• Look after the upkeep, organisation and maintenance of watersports equipment
• Support staff training and development, taking a leading role in powerboat skills and staff powerboat training
• Work five days a week including weekends and Bank Holidays, rising to six days in July and August

• RYA Senior Instructor qualification in Dinghy Sailing or Windsurfing

• Enhanced DBS check required
• Desirable: RYA Dinghy Instructor, RYA Start Windsurfing Instructor, RYA Intermediate Windsurfing Instructor, RYA Wingsurf and/or Wingfoil Instructor, BSUPA Level 1 or 2 Instructor, RYA Powerboat Instructor
