Duty Senior Instructor

Andrew Simpson Centres is a not-for-profit watersports charity running centres across the UK, and it is looking for an RYA Senior Instructor at its Reading centre. The post involves on-the-water and shore-based sessions for a wide range of participants. The centre wants instructors to start right away for the season ahead.

The role:

• Support all aspects of the centre's delivery programme
• Deliver RYA courses in the National and Youth dinghy, windsurf, wing and powerboat schemes, according to your qualifications
• Deliver charitable programmes to local communities and organisations
• Run shore-based courses and activities
• Help manage the instructor team and work with the Chief Instructor to train and develop them
• Maintain and repair the dinghies, powerboats and other operational resources where needed
• Help with operational paperwork, administration and customer service
• Support the centre management team in developing the centre and increasing bookings

• Current RYA Senior Instructor certificate (essential)
• Passion for working with a wide variety of groups and enabling inclusivity (essential)
• Hands-on, flexible and proactive approach (essential)
• RYA Powerboat Instructor (desirable)
• RYA Windsurf Instructor (desirable)
• RYA Wingsurf Instructor (desirable)
• RYA Racing or Advanced endorsements (desirable)
• Other watersports or activity experience or qualifications, such as paddlesports (desirable)
• Experience in a youth or charity setting (desirable)
• Experience working with young people with SEND or individuals with additional needs (desirable)
