Private Captain, New Build Oyster 595

Oyster Yachts is looking for an experienced Captain for a privately owned, new build Oyster 595 sailing yacht. The job starts in early December in Antigua, ahead of a long-term cruising programme in the Bahamas, Caribbean and US East Coast.

The owners spend a lot of time onboard, usually joining the yacht every few weeks, and enjoy a relaxed cruising lifestyle. This is not a racing or adventure programme.

The role:

• Take command of the yacht and run a relaxed, owner-operated cruising programme
• Manage the vessel and maintain its engineering, electrical, electronic and sailing systems
• Present and maintain the yacht to a high standard
• Build a strong working relationship with engaged owners who like to be involved in the yacht's operation
• Take ownership of the programme in a proactive and respectful way

• Yachtmaster Offshore minimum
• AEC 1 and 2 useful, or strong engineering and technical knowledge
• B1/B2 visa (essential)
• Previous command experience on sailing yachts
• Familiarity with the US East Coast, Bahamas and Caribbean preferred
• Strong references
