Autonomy Engineer / Autonomous Systems Project Lead

Sunreef Yachts is looking for an experienced Autonomy Engineer and Project Lead in Ras Al Khaimah. You will lead the development and integration of autonomous systems for its next-generation yachts and intelligent mobility platforms.

The role:

• Lead autonomous system projects covering navigation, collision avoidance, auto-docking, route planning and remote operation
• Define and manage the overall autonomy architecture, integrating sensors, control systems, propulsion, communications and onboard electronics
• Coordinate software, electronics, mechanical and automation teams
• Work with the in-house PLC programming and HMI teams while owning overall system integration and technical direction
• Integrate and calibrate sensing technologies such as LiDAR, radar, AI cameras, GPS/RTK, sonar and thermal cameras
• Oversee sensor fusion, computer vision, SLAM, obstacle detection and path-planning systems
• Manage networking protocols including CAN Bus, NMEA 2000 and Modbus TCP/IP
• Lead testing, simulation and validation, including field and sea trials, and work with suppliers and technology partners

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 5 years leading autonomous vehicle, robotics, automation or intelligent mobility projects
• Proven experience managing complex multidisciplinary engineering projects with advanced sensor technologies
• Strong understanding of autonomous navigation, AI-based perception, sensor fusion, real-time control, embedded systems and industrial communications
• Hands-on experience with LiDAR, radar, AI cameras, GPS/RTK and industrial communication protocols
• Strong leadership, project coordination, troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills
• Experience in robotics, automotive autonomy, drones, industrial automation or electric mobility is a strong advantage
