Project Assistant

Damen is a family-owned shipbuilder, and this role sits within Damen Sustainable Solutions, which designs and produces emission reduction systems for ships. The Project Assistant is based in Gorinchem in the Netherlands and gives administrative and organisational support to the project and service team. The post is full-time, with 32 hours a week open to discussion, and offers a development path towards Project Coordinator.

The role:

• Process and follow up service work orders, keeping project and service documents in order in SharePoint and ERP systems
• Help prepare and plan service work, making sure materials, tools and spare parts are available on time
• Arrange travel and accommodation for Service Engineers and coordinate practical details with internal teams
• Support invoicing by preparing invoices and tracking the invoicing status of completed work
• Help Sales Engineers draft, format and send quotations and service and maintenance proposals
• Liaise with customers and internal teams on planning and capacity
• Provide general team support, including reports, diary management, meetings, minutes and action points

• Salary of €3,700 to €4,900 gross per month for full-time, excluding holiday pay, depending on knowledge and experience

• MBO+ working and thinking level, preferably in an administrative, business or similar field
• Experience in an administrative, service support or sales support role is an advantage
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate several tasks at once
• Good communication skills and resilience in a fast-moving scale-up
• Good command of MS Office; SAP or other ERP experience is an advantage
• Good spoken and written Dutch and English
