Maintenance Technician

Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam is part of the Damen Shiprepair & Conversion group, offering maintenance, repair, conversion and refit work for ships. This full-time role keeps the installations, facilities and buildings running at its repair yards in Schiedam and the Botlek, and you will report to the Maintenance Supervisor within a team of around ten.

The role:

• Carry out preventive and corrective electrical and mechanical maintenance on installations, cranes, docks and building facilities
• Diagnose and fix electrical faults through to a lasting solution
• Check that electrical installations and facilities work safely and meet current standards
• Inspect, maintain and repair electrical tools and installations
• Install and maintain shore power connections and temporary or permanent electrical supplies on ships and work areas
• Decide the best approach to jobs and guide specialists

• MBO level 2 qualification as a minimum, preferably in electrical or technical studies
• NEN 3140 VP (low voltage) and VCA VOL certificates preferred, or willingness to obtain them
• Broad technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical and civil installations
• Practical experience with machines, tools and measuring equipment
• Knowledge of health and safety, environmental and quality regulations
• Dutch and English good enough to understand technical documentation
