Junior Project Engineer

Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam is part of the Damen Shiprepair and Conversion Group and repairs a wide range of vessels up to 250 metres at its yard in Amsterdam Noord. It is looking for a junior project engineer to help prepare and support ship repairs, combining technical work with practical delivery.

The role:

• Produce shipbuilding and ship repair sketches and drawings
• Calculate steel weights
• Prepare lifting and internal transport plans
• Carry out work preparation
• Make docking calculations
• Assist the estimators by producing drawings for quotations
• Provide general technical support to the commercial team
• Advise and support colleagues in Production and Maintenance

• Completed HBO degree, preferably in naval architecture or shipbuilding (HBO-Scheepsbouw)
• At the start of your career (first or second step)
• Affinity with ship repair, preferably with some experience in a similar environment
• Good command of English and Dutch, with good communication skills
• Able to act quickly and to work with all disciplines on technical solutions
