Boat Builder

Oyster Yachts is a British luxury yacht builder known for its bluewater sailing yachts. This role is in its Service department at Port Premià, Barcelona, maintaining, repairing and refitting Oyster yachts through carpentry, joinery, boatbuilding and GRP work.

The role:

• Assemble and install interior and exterior components and fittings on luxury sailing yachts
• Carry out construction, installation, repair and maintenance work inside and outside yachts
• Undertake skilled carpentry, joinery and boatbuilding in wood, GRP and metal
• Prepare, sand and finish wooden surfaces to a high standard
• Work from technical drawings, plans and specifications
• Use woodworking machinery, power tools and hand tools safely
• Work with the wider Oyster Service team to meet customer expectations

• Proven professional experience in the yachting or marine industry
• Strong knowledge of woodworking, timber processing, carpentry and joinery
• Experience of construction, installation, repair and maintenance on yachts or boats
• Confident use of woodworking machinery, power tools and hand tools
• Ability to work from technical drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of GRP, plastics processing, surface preparation and finishing
• Good spoken and written Spanish / English
• Right to live and work in Spain
• Desirable: vocational qualification in carpentry, joinery, boatbuilding or a related trade
• Desirable: experience on luxury sailing yachts and in both joinery and GRP work
