Boat Fleet Maintenance Technician

Le Boat, part of the Travelopia group, is a leading provider of self-drive boating holidays. It is looking for a permanent maintenance technician at its boatyard in Hindeloopen, Friesland, commutable from Sneek, to keep the fleet ready for the season.

The role:

• Maintain the fleet to a high standard of reliability and presentation
• Follow manufacturer maintenance schedules
• Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs on 36 and 45ft fibreglass boats, including pumps, batteries, diesel engines, electrics, propane and hydraulics
• Install electrical and mechanical equipment and carry out small fibreglass repairs, with training provided
• Take part in hauling and launching, commissioning, decommissioning and gas dock operations
• Work with the Head Tech and Base Manager to prioritise tasks
• Travel to off-site locations for emergency repairs during the season
• Cover the duty call-out rota for the Hindeloopen region

• Technical studies or hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, water pumps or HVAC repair and general maintenance
• Ability to interpret specifications and installation instructions
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
• Desire to learn and develop technical skills
• Valid driving licence
• Full eligibility to work in the Netherlands
• Advantageous: previous boat maintenance experience, knowledge of marine diesels, fluent English or German
